About Meowmie

Busy, busy, busy. That’s my life in three words. Seems that no sooner do I get one thing done, then there’s another waiting in the queue! These are the joys of juggling motherhood and a full-time job as well as tending to one spoiled British Shorthair kitten. I’m working on training my darling daughter, now in Year 1, to use the duster and fill the dishwasher, and our new kitten is highly resistant to the idea of wearing dusters and chase the dust bunnies for me.

I was widowed in 2009 and I’m working out what I’m doing now. Moving into a new year was sad, as if saying farewell to one part of my life, worrying because I have many loose ends to tie up and an equal number of uncertainties, and exciting, to see what possibilities might arise.  You can read more about me in a recent post here.

I love music and the theatre and I also do reviews of both. I’ve been doing fewer of these reviews in the past year due to an increased workload. I used to show cats but that’s another thing that has gone by the wayside  thanks to the pressures of life.  The drawback is that there are no more big bags of kibble or kitty litter as prizes.  But the positive list includes things like not having to listen to a Siamese yowl for the entire journey there and back, or the gossip and snarkiness of some groups of competitors.

Please leave comments. I love to hear what people think.

Canberra. Yes, our kids are very close in age. I bet your little honey gets up to some funny things like mine sometimes, too!

another SoF person here too, but in Sydney. Known as Ship’s grandma with five grandchildren just 11 down to 4.

My mum died in 2009 and I can relate to your feelings about a new year – to a certain extent, of course.

Best wishes for the year and plans.
